Rachel Purcell
Veterinary Surgeon

I grew up locally and saw practice at Willett House as a student. I graduated from Cambridge University in 1999 and worked in mixed practice in the Cotswolds and Maidenhead. I spent two years working as a locum vet for small animal practices from 2004. During this time I worked in Sri Lanka, post-tsunami, helping to treat and control the stray dog problem and rabies threat. Following this, I took a job in beautiful North Devon and was there for seven years. In 2013 I returned to my roots and joined Willett House. I have worked on a part time basis since the birth of my daughter in 2014.

I have a rescue whippet-cross called Daisy of unknown age, as she was found abandonned on Bodmin moor, but thought to be fairly elderly now. She got a nasty leg injury in 2016, which required major orthopaedic surgery on her wrist, performed by Aaron Hunt. I am glad to say she is now doing really well again.

My special interests are small animal medicine and I work mostly from the Addlestone branch.
