Jane Tomlin
Veterinary Surgeon

I graduated from the Royal Veterinary College (RVC) London in 1992 having obtained an intercallated Batchelor of Science degree in Medicinal Sciences with Physiology during her training. I entered small animal practice for a year prior to taking a two year internship at Glasgow University where I successfully obtained my certificate in Small Animal Surgery. Following a further spell in small animal practice in 1997 I undertook a three year residency at the RVC followed by a further year there working as a staff clinician in neurology and orthopaedics. Having successfully obtained my European Diploma in Surgery (DECVS) I took up a part-time lectureship post in orthopaedics at the RVC where I worked until 2005. Having developed an interest in the training of undergraduates I then took up a part-time post at the Centre for Lifelong and Independent Veterinary Education (LIVE) looking amongst others at novel examination methods. I balance my work at LIVE with a clinical role at Willett House on a part-time basis, mainly working Saturdays.
