Alex Howell
Veterinary Surgeon

I graduated from Glasgow University in 2009 after having previously completed a Neuroscience degree at Edinburgh University. After graduating I went travelling and ended up in Melbourne in Australia where I worked in small animal practice for three years. After the birth of my first daughter (now one of two!), I returned to the UK in 2013 and I have worked at Willett House since then. I have an interest in all the varied work that general practice brings but I am especially keen on Surgery and Diagnostic imaging.

I have two Black Glaswegian cats called Skye and Lewis who are brother and sister. They are well travelled; from Scotland they have been to England, France (when I got married), Singapore and to Australia and back!

Continued professional development:

Currently I am undertaking further study in diagnostic imaging to become an advanced practitioner in this field. But previous continued professional development courses include:

• Endoscopy

• Abdominal ultrasound

• Cardiac ultrasound

• Cardiac treatment

• Ophthalmology

• Thoracic radiology

• MMP (cruciate repair) course

• Stifle (knee) surgery
